Kyle Walker's brilliant tweet about Harry Maguire after England 2-0 Sweden

Sweden v England: Quarter Final - 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia

England are through to a World Cup semi-final.

Yes, you did read that correctly. After 28 years of hurt, the Three Lions will play for the chance to play in a World Cup final in the Luzhniki Stadium.

England beat Sweden 2-0 in Samara, with Harry Maguire and Dele Alli scoring the goals.

It was a top performance from Gareth Southgate's side, showing their grit and determination, as well as their flair going forward.

They will now meet Croatia or host nation Russia on Wednesday evening.

There were so many players worthy of the man-of-the-match award, with Manchester City's Kyle Walker certainly one of the strong contenders.

Jordan Pickford was actually handed the award after three unbelievable saves.

And amidst all the joy and pandemonium on the pitch and back at home, Walker took time to post a hilarious tweet about his teammate Maguire.

Walker well on board with the Maguire memes doing the rounds on social media.

The City man also shared another tweet just minutes after the final whistle which will surely resonate with fans back at home.

While there is still a long way to go, you'd be a fool not to think that England do have a chance of lifting the Jules Rimet trophy on July 15.

The winner of Belgium and France will, of course, be the firm favourite for World Cup glory, but anything can happen in just 90 minutes of football.

We here don't want to start tempting fate, but one thing is for sure, England took a huge step closer to delivering it home.
