Arsenal are running the rule over Zambian international left-back Emmanuel Mbola and are also interested in Jordan Lukaku, according to reports.

The Mirror have picked up on stories in the Zambian press reporting that Mbola has been on trial with the Gunners.

Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi has denied he is training with the club, but the Mirror reckons it will not be long before he is.

The 17-year-old already has 20 caps for his country and is interesting clubs from all across Europe, after impressing for TP Mazembe.

Meanwhile, the North London side are also looking at alternative should they not snap up Mbola, and Lukaku’s name has cropped up.

The Belgian is the brother of in demand Anderlecht striker Romelu and would be a better option due to the lack of a work permit needed.

However, Arsenal like to look to Africa for young talent, after finding the likes of Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue there so a deal for Mbola could be on the cards.
