Cristiano Ronaldo's potential move to Juventus continues to heat up.

No one can say they honestly saw that one coming and yet everything seems to be pointing that way.

The Real Madrid legend has made a habit of angling for a move but it pretty much always just results in a bumper new contract.

But whenever he has been rumoured to move, Juve weren't really in the discussion.

Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, or Bayern Munich had their names thrown about but the Italian champions have never made a signing like this before.

And that's why many simply don't believe it's going to happen; everyone has seen Ronaldo talk like this before and it never results in him leaving - especially to somewhere like Juve.

But it's still the talk of the transfer window and will be until he leaves or signs a new deal - and one ex-teammate knows exactly what he should do.

Patrice Evra, who played alongside Ronaldo at United, answered the question he said everyone was asking him.

"Everyone asks me, 'Pat, what do you think?'" Evra said on Instagram live. "I haven’t spoken to Cristiano about this, but my advice is, if he wants to play to 2050, he has to go to Juve.

"There is no other team he must join - it’s simple."

Speaking from experience, the former United and Juve left-back continued: "I thank Juve because if after Manchester I continued to win and to run, it was thanks to Juve.

"You should never spit on the plate that fed you, so Juve will always be in my heart.

"You know how much the Italians love you, but it’s a sacrifice.

"If you go to Juve, it’s to work and to work hard; this lot, ha, don’t know what a vacation is.

"But that’s the choice - either you want to continue playing to 2050 or just carry on for a bit.

"I can tell you this: if you go to Juve, you’ll be at the next World Cup not as a mascot, but as a protagonist. A protagonist!"
