Ferrari Formula One star Sebastian Vettel has won four races in 2018 so far and currently holds an eight-point championship lead over Lewis Hamilton, and now he has another reason to smile.Vettel has finished every race in the top 10 this year and is currently the only driver to have completed every single lap of this season so far, with 558 laps raced, four more than the next best man, Renault's Carlos Sainz.Vettel has had a very strong season.Four pole positions and four wins make for a great improvement on what was a good 2017, at this point last year, he had won three races and taken just the one pole position.Ferrari's 2018 car started the year a bit off the pace of the Mercedes, but following a strong yet somewhat lucky win in Australia, Ferrari may well now have the best car in the field with engine and aero upgrades helping them beat Mercedes at a track that was not expected to favour the red cars.Vettel was just 0.044s off pole position on Saturday and beat Hamilton off the line to lead the race from Valtteri Bottas following Hamilton's contact with Kimi Raikkonen. He then passed Bottas in a thrilling finish to claim his fourth win of the year, and complete a very strong weekend for the Scuderia. The result with Raikkonen in third means Ferrari hold a 20-point lead in the Constructors' Championship, marking it the closest Mercedes have been ran since the start of the turbo-hybrid era back in 2014.

No other team has come this close to beating the Silver Arrows.

With all the tracks featuring thinner tread tyres (Spain, France and Great Britain) elapsed, which suited Mercedes better, and Ferrari able to conquer Mercedes at one of them, Ferrari are sitting very pretty for the rest of the season.

And the consistency shown by Vettel this year could well be pivotal.
