Much speculation has circulated around the question of where highly rated Formula One racing star Daniel Ricciardo will ply his trade in the next season, with his good friend Jenson Button now giving out some valuable information.

Jenson, the 38-year-old former Formula 1 competitor, has acknowledged the uncertainty regarding his situation and has offered his insight and who he believes his friend Ricciardo will end up representing.

The Australian racing star was subject to many potential offers from top teams as his future was called into question with his current team Red Bull, who currently own the rights to the fourth ranked competitor in Formula1, until the end of the year.

Button has done his part in shooting down some of these rumours surrounding Ricciardo, in which he disclosed his thoughts on the situation in an extensive interview with Sky Sports.

"I think it's (Red Bull) the only place he should be," he said.

"There are many options for him, but nothing that's really going to help him lift the championship and win races.

"You never want to drop out of that. Building a team up can take years and there's a big chance it's not going to work.

"Sticking with a team like Red Bull for me is his best opportunity to win the world championship.

"They'll have Honda next year and we'll see how it goes, but I think they need a bit of change to lift them to the top two."

It appears now that Red Bull fans can be much less worried about their star man potentially leaving the team as Button sees no reason for the 29-year-old to move on after his contract expiry at the end of the year.

Fresh off a win at the Monaco Grand Prix of 2018, Ricciardo is an experienced driver with talent and a mind for the sport that will only grow to mature.

For Red Bull to extend his contract would be seen as massive for the team eagerly looking for championships to win.
