It's fair to say that Vince McMahon tends to get a lot of criticism when things are going wrong in WWE, or when fans don't like what they see.

A perfect example of this is Roman Reigns.

GENIUS...AT TIMES

The majority of fans online and the older audience that attend events let their feelings be heard whenever the former Shield member makes his way to the ring.

They might not like him, but that doesn't mean Vince is going to give up on the star he's worked hard to make an integral part of Monday Night RAW, and perhaps the face of the company at some point.

On the flip side, he receives plenty of praise for trusting somebody as inexperienced as Braun Strowman.

From out of nowhere, the former Wyatt Family member bulldozed his way into the main event scene, and it's clear that Vince is also going to protect arguably the WWE's resident monster for years to come.

Although Vince is hands-on with certain superstars, such as The Big Dog, Strowman and even Drew McIntyre, not every story of his work with top talent is shared.

During the WWE's recent visit to Japan, though, Shinsuke Nakamura spoke to Line News and revealed that the reaction he's currently receiving from WWE fans is exactly what Vince had intended.

The King of Strong Style turned heel at WrestleMania 34 by hitting AJ Styles with a low blow.

TERRIBLE GENIUS

He's gone from being the fan favourite to showing a destructive side, a change of attitude, his music has changed and even the 'No speak English' line gets under the skin of many WWE fans - in a good way.

Following that, Nakamura has labelled Vince a 'mad scientist' and a 'terrible genius' for getting the best out of him.

According to Fightful, he said: "Vince is truly amazing.

"We talk about [it] every week, but it [he] seems to be a mad scientist, a terrible genius. From there I got a Japanese lap in my theme song, but that was also Vince's idea.

"When I first heard it, I was surprised. When I heard Japanese people, I did not know what they were saying. Then, but when I asked the story, I had [the] proper intention. To be sure there was only a sense of incompatibility in the theme song that became rapped, but when I was told, that kind of incompatibility was originally what I was looking for." Shinsuke said.

"I was in New Japan [Pro] wrestling and became a heel. I made a character named Makoto Nakamura in the morning, but I thought what [fans] wanted at that time was irritating. That is where you have to give a little disgusting feeling to the customer, but it will eventually become a habit to become an unforgettable existence.

"Vince [wanted] to amplify the negative feelings of customers. I put noise in my songs that I have been listening to so far, the sense of incompatibility I felt is just the reaction as intended by Vince."

It just goes to show that despite the age, Vince knows what it takes to get someone over as a heel or a face.
