As you'll probably hear a lot over the next 24 hours: it's not coming home.
Croatia have defeated England 2-1 after extra-time, moving on to play France in Sunday's World Cup final.
England will rue the missed chance to make history, having taken the lead just five minutes into the game after a Kieron Trippier freekick.
Chances were missed that could have extended the lead but England look capable of winning the match until Ivan Perisic equalised in the second half.
Kyle Walker misjudged the situation after a cross and allowed Perisic to steal in and poke the ball home.
Perisic hit the post shortly afterwards but extra-time followed for two very tired looking teams.
After John Stones had an attempt cleared off the line, the Manchester City man then fell asleep for a second and Mario Mandzukic pounced to fire Croatia into the World Cup final.
And so England's incredible run will end with a 3rd-place Play-Off on Saturday against Belgium - not what they wanted but still amazing progress.
Gary Lineker, who knows all too well what semi-final defeat feels like after losing to West Germany in 1990, took to Twitter after the match and put his emotions out there - and it's safe to say they line up with pretty much all of us.
Brilliantly put from Lineker, who also wanted to show off the England fans after the whistle, still supporting their team.
We'll now see where this very young England squad go from here but this is a hell of a start - it's been a very long time since the national side has made people dream like this one.
