WWE has begun to reveal the participants for the second Mae Young Classic tournament taking place later this year and a former Divas Champion is going to be returning to the company on the show.
ESPN reported yesterday that Kaitlyn would be making her return to the company for the first time since retiring from WWE in January 2014.
WWE later confirmed that the former Divas Champion would be making her in-ring return this summer for the company after four years away when she competes in the 2018 Mae Young Classic.
Kaitlyn became noticed by WWE fans when she won season three of the old NXT back in 2010, her first year with the company.
She reached the highest point in her WWE career to date in January 2013 when she defeated Eve to capture the Divas Championship on the 20th Anniversary of Raw.
The former Divas Champion held onto the title for 153 days before losing it to one of her greatest rivals, AJ Lee.
Many people were excited to hear that Kaitlyn would be returning to the company, including Triple H and The New Day's Big E, who is good friends with Kaitlyn in real life.
During an interview with ESPN, Kaitlyn revealed why she has decided to come back to the WWE.
She said: “The highs and lows and the adrenaline rushes and the quick thinking on your feet — it came rushing back to me.
"Anytime you step back in the ring, it’s the same rush and you never get used to it. There is always this fear and this question of ‘Oh, my gosh, can I do this?’ And to me that’s part of what makes it amazing.
"It’s about finding things that drive you and fuel you. And you can work 18 hours a day or however many hours a day and still want to go back to the ring or do lifts in the gym.
"As long as you’re passionate about it, you feel happy, and to me that’s the balance.”
WWE fans can see Kaitlyn in action again later this summer when the Mae Young Classic tapes on August 8 and 9 at Full Sail Live in Orlando, Florida.
