On Sunday night, Extreme Rules touches down in Pittsburgh, as the WWE roster goes all out for one night only.

It will be another dual-branded pay-per-view, featuring feuds from both SmackDown and RAW, meaning there are 12 matches on the card.

THE EXPECTED MAIN EVENT

In seven of those matches, there will be a title belt on the line - but, if reports are true, the main event will not be one of those.

Instead, a singles match will no stipulation is expected to headline the show - Roman Reigns vs Bobby Lashley.

Now, The Big Dog is RAW's top guy and is likely to go on to be in the main event of SummerSlam against Brock Lesnar next month.

But having his match with Lashley on last at Extreme Rules makes no sense whatsoever. In fact, there are a few other matches more deserving of closing the show.

One, in particular, may be more deserving than the rest - Dolph Ziggler vs Seth Rollins.

WHY ZIGGLER VS ROLLINS SHOULD MAIN EVENT EXTREME RULES

Back in April, Ziggler was drafted to RAW - but as we all know, he didn't arrive on the red brand alone.

He brought back up in the strongest form, introducing Drew McIntyre to WWE's main roster.

With the Scotsman, Ziggler has formed a devastating partnership and taken Monday nights by storm and back in June, he won the Intercontinental Championship from Rollins.

That's the first reason this match should main event - because there's actually a title on the line. It means something, a lot more than the pride Lashley and Reigns are fighting over.

More importantly than that though, these men can put on a clinic.

Both Rollins and Ziggler have very exciting wrestling styles - Dolph is one of the best technical wrestlers in WWE, while Seth is an all-round, polished performer that can do everything well.

When these two collide, they'll leave it all in the ring - and should they headline the show, it's guaranteed to send fans home happy.

What will also make Ziggler vs Rollins exciting, is that it will actually have a stipulation. Of the 10 matches on the main card, only three of them do.

For an Extreme Rules PPV, having only a handful of bouts with a different stipulation kind of defeats the point of an "extreme" show.

A 30-minute Iron Man match is a brilliant opportunity for the pair to showcase their talents - and it's a chance to keep them both looking strong too.

Both Rollins and Ziggler could score multiple pinfalls, but the one who manages to keep their opponent down for the most will win.

Finally, with McIntyre ringside, there's a chance that everything could combust. Ziggler's heel ally will almost certainly get involved at some point - probably to cost Rollins in some way or another.

It's always fun to watch matches breakdown due to outside interference - and if it happens during the Intercontinental Championship bout - it will add another layer to the match.

Yes, Reigns is WWE's top guy - but wouldn't it be good to see, for the first time this year, others more deserving headline a PPV, two people like Rollins and Ziggler?
