Will Danny Rose still be playing for England in 2020?

You suspect that many of the players in Southgate’s 23-man squad will be present when the 2020 European Championships get underway in just under two years time.

But for those on the wrong side of 30 - and perhaps even some of those in their late 20s - this may have been their final international tournament.

Danny Rose will be 30 in 2020 and the Tottenham full-back wouldn’t be in another England squad again if Roy Keane was in Southgate’s shoes.

The Republic of Ireland assistant manager tore into Rose at half-time of the Belgium match for his role in Meunier’s opener.

Roy Keane destroys Danny Rose

“England gave a shocking goal away,” Keane said live on ITV. “Sloppy, lazy defending. Really lazy defending.

“When you look at Rose's defending on top of the centre-halves’, he's never going to learn about the game.

"At 28 years of age...he's in trouble.”
