Eden Hazard has proven time and time again in the last few years that he truly belongs on football's biggest stages. The Chelsea winger has had a fantastic World Cup for Belgium and, despite not reaching the final, he was able to strike with a trademark calm finish past Jordan Pickford in their 2-0 third-place play-off victory over England.Hazard himself believes that he should be the recipient of the World Cup Golden Ball - given to the player who has produced the best performances during the tournament. You can't argue he's got immense confidence himself, and who wouldn't if they had the natural ability he has?The 27-year old has hit double figures for the Blues in the Premier League in four out of his six seasons at Stamford Bridge, including 12 goals in 34 games in 2017/18, but he brings much more to the team than that.Rumours have circulated this summer regarding Hazard's status with Chelsea not qualifying for the upcoming UEFA Champions League, Barcelona and Real Madrid being the two teams constantly linked with the superstar. And according to Kristof Terreur, a journalist for Belgian publication Het Laatste Nieuws, Hazard is seriously considering his future at the club.“After 6 wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different," Hazard said to reporters after guiding his country to victory over the Three Lions."Certainly after this World Cup, I can decide if I want to stay or go, but Chelsea will make the final decision - if they want to let me go. You know my preferred destination.”

If Hazard is serious with these comments, which you'd imagine he is, then it could give Chelsea and the Premier League a major shake-up.

Should Hazard join the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho at Barcelona, or be Cristiano Ronaldo's replacement at Los Blancos, it would represent a massive loss for a league that is continuously losing top stars to sunny Spain.

And for Maurizio Sarri's side, it would mean having to replace the most technically-gifted and influential player in the line-up, which won't be a cheap or easy feat.

Time will tell whether or not the diminutive Belgian stays or goes, but now that the Ronaldo to Juventus deal is wrapped up, this could end up being the biggest transfer saga of the summer.
