Liverpudlian Rocky Fielding picked up the WBA 'regular' super-middleweight title by stopping Tyron Zeuge at the Baden Arena in Offenburg via a fifth round TKO.Fielding had his opponent badly hurt as the fourth round drew to a close thanks to a left hook to the head following an accurate power jab. Those blows left Zeuge dazed and confused as he took to his corner, and a fifth-round body shot sent the German to the canvas for the first and only time, drawing to an end a 23 bout win streak.Shortly after tasting victory, Fielding said: "It feels amazing - the fact I came here, to his backyard, and stopped him.

"I just stuck to the plan. I know he's a great fighter and I had a lot on it. This is my dream."

Fielding extends his own impressive victorious run, having built up a six-fight win streak since a first round knockout loss to Callum Smith in 2015.

He spoke of the defeat that sparked off his excellent run of form and insisted that the "distractions are gone".

"Against Callum, I had a few problems outside the ring," said Fielding.

"The distractions are gone. When I had my mind clear, I had that fear factor and I switched on. Everything was on this."

Although not yet a household name, Fielding has at least attracted the attention of some of his more distinguished peers.

Notably, fellow Merseysider Tony 'The Bomber' Bellew posted on Twitter after Fielding's victory on Saturday night.

"Deserve this lad!! Takes on ANYONE ANYWHERE ANYTIME! Cracking display to take away Zeuge undefeated record.. nothing wrong with Zeuge he just had the fight beaten out of him by Rocky plain and simple..."

Spot on, Tony.

Fielding's punching power and grit were never in doubt - but there were still lingering doubts over the potential effect of the brutal loss inflicted upon him by Callum Smith at the Echo Arena.

Any loitering demons were likely banished by the manner of this victory, made even more impressive considering it was achieved in the hostile back-yard of his opponent.

Fielding can now turn his attention to revenge.

Callum Smith faces WBA 'Super' champion George Groves in the final of the Muhammad Ali trophy on a date yet to be determined.

Should Smith emerge as the winner of that bout the opportunity to unite the WBA's 'regular' and 'super' titles at super middle-weight will reveal itself, and Fielding will likely be granted the chance to showcase his ability on a bigger stage.
