Against all the odds, Novak Djokovic has been crowned Wimbledon champion.The Serbian eventually came through his marathon semi-final against Rafael Nadal on Saturday afternoon, and returned to centre court on Sunday to face Kevin Anderson.Djokovic would prevail over the South African in straight sets in what was a one sided affair, winning 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).It was an emotional victory for Djokovic given what he has been through in the past few years.The Serbian has suffered from injury for the best part of two years, causing a loss of form and a major drought of just over two years.As a result he went into the tournament as the 12th seed, with many considering him an outsider to win the championships.But he defied expectations to win his 13th major title, and his fourth Wimbledon crown.While it was a great day for Djokovic, he has hit the headlines for the wrong reasons, however.Djokovic has had numerous run-ins with the crowd at Wimbledon throughout this tournament, most notably in his third round contest against Kyle Edmund.And his frustration with the crowd boiled over again in the third set against Anderson.With Anderson one point away from winning the third set, the crowd went bonkers after thinking a Djokovic forehand had been hit long.But it was called in, and Djokovic eventually went on to win the point. But the Serbian was visibly upset as he shouted a number of expletives at the crowd.He can be seen saying to the crowd: “Shut the f*** up”, after they cheered for the South African.Oh dear, Djokovic. That is not very classy at all.Tennis fans noticed what he said, and many were shocked by Djokovic’s behaviour.
Djokovic has now moved back up to world number 10 after the victory.
And he was ecstatic after the victory, stating how he was happy to win a championship as a father for the first time.
"He came in – he is under five so he couldn't come in during the match. But we said if this happens, he can come in to witness it.
"I am very emotional for him to be there and my wife and my whole team.”
