In what proved to be a major surprise in itself, Bobby Lashley's match against Roman Reigns didn't main event Extreme Rules like many thought it would. It's proved to become the trend now, that Monday Night RAW matches always go on last and more often than not, it's The Big Dog featured in the final match.

MAIN EVENT

It happened at Backlash, and fans were thinking that with the possibility of facing Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship up for grabs, this contest would go on last.

Instead, the reports that emerged last week proved to be correct.

It was revealed that WWE officials were pushing for the Intercontinental Championship match between Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins to go on last.

However, there wasn't any support for the WWE Championship match between AJ Styles and Rusev to be the main event.

Despite The Showoff and The Kingslayer going at it for more than 30 minutes during their Ironman match, fans on Twitter have blasted the Pittsburgh crowd for the role they played during their title match.

As soon as the match between the pair was announced, fans were also claiming that it had the potential to be the match of the year, especially since they were going to receive plenty of time to lay it all out in the ring for 30 minutes.

WWE went one better - they sent the match into overtime after the score finished 4-4 once the clock had run out.

HIJACKING

In the end, Drew McIntyre proved to play a crucial role in Ziggler leaving Pittsburgh with the 5-4 victory, along with the Intercontinental Championship.

However, fans on Twitter are anything but pleased at the crowd's attempt at hijacking the show.

Sadly, they seemed to be more interested in the click on the screen than they were in the match itself.

What seems to irritate most of the fans online, however, is the fact that the majority of fans are always complaining that the same big names are featured in the main event matches time and time again.

When the WWE listens and gives them what they want, they decide to take over the show themselves, rather than focusing on the excellent match two talented stars are putting on.

Even Bubba Ray Dudley got involved.

If WWE reverts to what they usually do rather than giving the overwhelming fan favourites a chance to shine in the limelight, those same fans only have themselves to blame.
