Last night's Extreme Rules pay-per-view was stacked with good action. In fact, it probably surpassed many fans expectations, because most of the WWE Universe was far from hyped for July's big event.

THE BEST MATCHES

For the first time in a while, it seemed like Vince McMahon made the correct decision with a PPV main event.

Rather than having Roman Reigns vs Bobby Lashley on last, it was Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler who closed the show with their 30-minute Iron Man battle.

The pair put on a clinic, eventually fighting to four pinfalls each before RAW GM Kurt Angle sent the match into overtime.

When it mattered most, Drew McIntyre stepped in to give Ziggler a helping hand, allowing The Showoff to pin Rollins one final time to defend the Intercontinental belt.

That classic was complimented by other good action, which included AJ Styles defeating Rusev to defend his WWE Championship and Alexa Bliss beating Nia Jax to defend the RAW Women's title.

But it wasn't just singles titles being defended.

TAG TEAM ACTION

The tag team champions from SmackDown and RAW both defended their gold.

For the blue brand, The Bludgeon Brothers defeated Team Hell No on their return, after brutally attacking them backstage beforehand, injuring Kane.

But it was the RAW title match that was far more interesting to watch, as The Deleters of Worlds opened Extreme Rules with a match against The B-Team.

Against all odds, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel continued their hot-streak, defeating Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy - taking their belts in the process.

THE END OF HARDY AND WYATT?

Understandably, the former champions didn't take their defeat too well - and Matt has since teased on Twitter that this may be the end of him and Bray.

The cryptic message he posted read: "It may be time for US to move on.."

No one's quite sure what that means yet, but it certainly suggests The Deleters of Worlds could be breaking up sooner rather than later.

In fact, Jeff Hardy lost his United States Championship last night - so it wouldn't be out of the question to argue that Brother Nero could be making a return - perhaps to join his brother on RAW?
