Seth Rollins has responded after the crowd hijacked WWE's Extreme Rules main event

WWE's Extreme Rules pay-per-view came to an epic climax inside the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh last night. 

Rather than having Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley in the main event - which many fans expected, it was Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins closing the show. 

THE MATCH 

The pair battled it out in a 30-minute Iron Man match, fighting for the Intercontinental Championship. 

Rollins and Ziggler had half-an-hour to score the most pinfalls - and neither man disappointed. 

In fact, they finished the match tied on four falls each and that initially meant that The Showoff successfully defended his belt in a draw. 

But Kurt Angle crashed his celebrations, demanding that the bout go to overtime.

ZIGGLER DEFENDS

In the moment that Ziggler needed his ally the most, Drew McIntyre came out of nowhere and attacked Rollins, which allowed Dolph to score the winning pin. 

It was a good ending to great battle - which was the first singles match of 2018 not involving Reigns to close a PPV.

Now, as The Big Dog is despised by parts of the WWE Universe, having two other wrestlers in the main event of Extreme Rules should have made the Pittsburgh crowd happy. 

But actually, they seemed completely uninterested in Rollins vs Ziggler - to the point where it was almost disrespectful to the pair in the ring. 

CROWD REACTION  

Rather than watching and reacting to what was going on, most of the noise from the crowd came when each of the 30 minutes came to an end.

Like they do in a Royal Rumble, the audience counted down from 10 seconds with the on-screen timer, cheering everytime it hit zero.

But this wasn't a Royal Rumble match - and following the disrespect, Rollins himself has taken to Twitter to react to what the crowd were doing. 

THE KINGSLAYER RESPONDS TO THE PITTSBURGH CROWD 

"10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1.." he wrote, mocking most of those in attendance.  

It's easy to understand why Rollins took to social media to share that because honestly, he and Ziggler deserved a far better reception than the one they got last night.  

It seems very strange that lots of WWE fans beg for someone other than Reigns in a PPV main event, but then completely hijack the match when they actually get what they want.
