Anthony Joshua is set to defend his heavyweight titles against Alexander Povetkin at Wembley Stadium in September, the venue he beat Wladimir Klitschko in 2017 in what was a fascinating fight.

Joshua is feeling very hyped up about the match, but has warned very much against underestimating his rival Povetkin.

A lot of boxing fans will be feeling rather disappointed that it will be Joshua vs Povetkin rather than a certain Joshua vs Deontay Wilder, but that is something that will certainly come around in the future.

As for now, Joshua and his fans have to prepare for Povetkin, the man that beat David Price on the undercard of 'AJ' vs Joseph Parker back in March.

Despite it not being Wilder and a champion, Joshua has admitted he cannot take Povetkin lightly.

“I can’t wait to get back in the ring, the end of March feels a long time ago now,” said Joshua.

“Povetkin is a serious challenge that I will prepare meticulously for.

"He has serious pedigree and only a fool would underestimate what he brings to the table."

Povetkin is serious competition, and has earned his shot against Joshua this September.

He defeated Liverpool’s David Price in a fifth-round knockout and has his sights now very much set on Britain's current biggest boxing star.

“I fought for the moment to face the strongest in the world and on September 22 I get my opportunity.

"Anthony Joshua has four belts and I want them all.

"I’m glad that our fight will finally take place, the meeting of two Olympic champions in the ring is destined to be a breath-taking event.”

Of course the majority of the crowd will no doubt be hoping for a Joshua win, him being the national superstar.

British boxing is set for one of the biggest nights of its recent history, and perhaps one of the greatest fights we have seen for a while.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn isn't worried though.

"I expect this fight to be full of energy and drama – Povetkin is a top 3 heavyweight and extremely dangerous, but in AJ, I see the best heavyweight in the world today and I think we will see a major statement."

Two Olympic champions going head-to-head is surely going to draw an absolutely massive audience both at the stadium and on TV.

Whichever way it falls, it is going to be a fascinating event.
