The Brock Lesnar saga took another twist during Extreme Rules on Sunday night, and it was an announcement the fans liked.Monday Night RAW general manager Kurt Angle announced that if The Beast didn't turn up the following night, he would be stripped of the Universal Championship.

SUMMERSLAM

Evidently, that's what the fans want at this point as they desperately wish to have a defending champion holding RAW's biggest prize.

While Paul Heyman's appearance was more than enough, six superstars were narrowed down to just two after a couple of impressive triple threat matches.

Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, Finn Balor, Elias and Seth Rollins were all battling to determine which one will step up to the plate in Brooklyn, with The Big Dog and The Dominator emerging victorious from their respective matches.

Considering fans watched that match at Extreme Rules with Lashley managing to defeat Reigns, it's easy to understand why many on social media weren't too pleased with having to watch the match again.

While their Extreme Rules match can be deemed meaningless if it takes Lashley out of title contention, Rajah has revealed that there have been some internal rumours regarding the contest Lesnar could feature in at the biggest party of the summer.

TRIPLE THREAT?

According to the source, one rumour is claiming that Lesnar could end up defending his Universal Championship against both Lashley and Reigns in a triple threat match.

It is a rumour which makes sense, and it's something fans on Twitter also believe could be the direction is going in, especially since it looks unlikely that Vince McMahon will stop the Reigns push and Lashley's win over Reigns at Extreme Rules has to be leading to a title match at some point.

The expectation is that Lesnar will drop the Universal title at SummerSlam, and a triple threat does act like the perfect contest for him to remain looking strong ahead of his potential exit.

It won't be a huge surprise if this is the direction WWE decides to go in.

They love a finish featuring plenty of shenanigans, while it also seems highly unlikely that either man will be thrown into a different feud so soon ahead of SummerSlam.

We've seen two triple threats already, we could be seeing another with the title on the line.

Although, Braun Strowman is likely going to be hovering around, regardless of the match type.
