Tony Bellew is in no doubt what will see him return to the ring in the near future: a whole lot of money and a response by Tyson Fury.

Bellew has an overall record of 30 wins from 33 fights, with his two most recent victories coming in impressive fashion against David Haye.

In the aftermath of his latest win against Haye back in May, Bellew called on the colourful Fury for a fight but at this stage, no progress has been made.

And now Bellew is 35-years-old, he insists only the attraction big fights will keep him coming back to the ring.

"It has to be a fight where everybody writes me off again," he told talkSPORT.

"It has to be a fight where it appeals to the general public.

"I just don’t see the point in fighting somebody, and listen the winner of the WBSS (World Boxing Super Series between Oleksandr Usyk and Murat Gassiev) it all comes down to the simple thing of, if it makes financial sense, then I want to do it.

"But ultimately, there is no point in me saying I want the winner of the WBSS or I’m going to fight Tyson Fury, when one pays five times more than the other.

“Let’s just be realistic and I’m being as honest as I possibly can.

“But if it pays one-fifth of what it does to fight someone else, then it’s not realistically going to happen.”

Bellew is certainly frustrated at the lack of communication from Fury, who he sees as a potential blockbuster opponent, and has set himself a deadline to make a decision on his future.

He added: "I don’t know what I’m going to do, I mean I’m going to get away for a little bit, alone time just away with the family for a bit.

"And I’m going to make a decision in the next fortnight, definitely.

“I mean hopefully I will have made a decision by the end of this month, early next month at the latest.

"I’m going to sit with Eddie (Hearn) and a couple of my guys and just go over the options.

"I know everybody wants to see me fight this one, that one and he big one everyone wants to see me fight is Tyson Fury.

"But the fact of the matter is, he doesn’t want to know.”
