The countdown to Anthony Joshua's title unification bout against Alexander Povetkin has officially begun. It may not have been the fight the fans wanted - the prospect of Deontay Wilder will now have to wait until next year - but it is what has been ordered by the WBA.As the mandatory challenger, the Russian will be looking to cause an upset and had the chance to watch AJ up close in March when he knocked out David Price on the undercard of the world champion's victory over Joseph Parker.Spare a thought for Eddie Hearn, who is now doing his best to drum up excitement for the event on September 22, which will take place at Wembley - the scene of the British fighter's win against Wladimir Klitschko. However, judging by Tuesday's press conference, the former Olympic gold medallist is doing enough on his own to generate interest regardless of what his promoter does.As the 28-year-old squared up against Povetkin for the first time at a New York press conference and he showed off his three belts in front of the media, he was interrupted by none other than Jarrell Miller. The American, who is ranked no. 3 in the world by both the IBF and WBA, got onto the stage and confronted Joshua, provoking an angry response as things got heated - check out the footage below:

The 'Big Baby' shouted a number of expletives, which have of course been blanked out in the video above.

Joshua was visibly annoyed and Povetkin can't have been too pleased either as the limelight was taken away from the veteran heavyweight.

Miller wants to face AJ

That's exactly what Miller will have been intending.

The 30-year-old, who is unbeaten in 22, is still hoping to capitalise on the Wilder deal falling through and wants to be the one to fight Joshua if he does agree to go stateside in 2019.

Hearn knew that New Yorker Miller would be in attendance for the launch of his streaming service DAZN, but when he was initially nowhere to be seen, he joked:

"Maybe he's running away from Anthony Joshua."

It's safe to say that proved not to be the case and Miller is certainly doing his best to put himself in contention.
