In what seems to be a contract saga that has lasted all year, Rey Mysterio still hasn't signed a deal with the WWE.

That is what the majority of reliable sources are claiming anyway, after it was falsely revealed that the former WWE Champion had signed a two-year deal with the company.

RETURN

While it's expected to happen sooner rather than later, fans are still waiting for confirmation from WWE themselves after they used Mysterio twice already in 2018.

Mysterio featured in both of the Royal Rumble events this year but confirmed that he and the company are in talks over a three-year deal.

He also confirmed his interest in working alongside the likes of Sin Cara, Kalisto and Andrade 'Cien' Almas.

Naturally, fans are going to talk about potential dream matches for Mysterio for when he does return.

While AJ Styles is a popular name that is always going to pop up, Mysterio was asked in an interview on The Roman Show whether Daniel Bryan would be a dream opponent once again.

After praising the former SmackDown LIVE general manager, Mysterio confirmed that he's interested in competing opposite Bryan.

DANIEL BRYAN

According to Wrestling Inc, he said: "I was very happy for Daniel Bryan for his moment and for the success he has had throughout his career.

"Even after an injury that had put him out apparently permanently, and for him having the strength the heart of steel to come back and defeat the odds to want to perform so bad that he did what he had to do to make sure that he set foot back in the ring not as a general manager, but as a wrestler and he is tearing things up right now.

"But the fact that we opened up the doors for people like Daniel Bryan that is something special for me and for the stars that came in along the way like Psychosis and the Juventud Guerreras.

"We were given an opportunity at the time, and we took advantage of it. We just needed the platform.

"Daniel Bryan did the same thing. He was given the opportunity were, he took advantage of it, and he ran with the ball. I don't know how many times he's scored, but he keeps on scoring, and that's awesome. I love watching Daniel Bryan perform.

"Anything can happen. I did two Royal Rumbles for WWE this year. If you happen to see me on a Raw or Smackdown and you want to see a certain match, then you already know."

The two have faced off previously in WWE.

Despite that, it's still a match the WWE fans are heavily interested in.
