Following the Extreme Rules event, it's not just the in-ring action that has been dominating the headlines.

Bobby Lashley defeated Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens proved he's a lunatic and Hulk Hogan was backstage at the event in Pittsburgh.

HOGAN'S RETURN

News of a potential Hogan appearance ignited on Saturday when he was spotted flying into Cleveland, which is just hours away from Pittsburgh.

The expectation was that he'd drive into Pittsburgh to avoid obvious detection, and that's precisely what happened as WWE announced that they had reinstated him into the Hall of Fame after a three-year suspension.

As expected in a sensitive case like this, there have been plenty of rumours regarding what went down with Hogan at the event.

Fellow Hall of Famer Mark Henry claimed there was a genuine 50/50 split between the pair, while the New Day has come out with their own statement, stating that their opinions on him might change if he makes an actual effort to change.

Now, James Ellsworth has revealed what happened backstage at Extreme Rules during the apology.

Ellsworth - who was there alongside the rest of the roster - discussed on the latest episode of his Duhcast podcast that it was Triple H who kicked off proceedings, as Vince McMahon wasn't even there.

BACKSTAGE MEETING

According to Rajah, He went on to add he feels Hogan's apology was genuine, echoing Henry's thoughts.

He said: "For the most part, it seemed like everyone was very accepting of his apology.

“I disagree with what he said, but I do believe he feels sorry about it. I really really really do believe that. If I didn’t I wouldn’t even comment on this.”

Ellsworth revealed that Triple H started the meeting with a brief speech where he first revealed that Hogan had been reinstated and then outlined the dangers of social media as a wrestler or a celebrity.

He also added how it easy it is for a person to be filmed without their knowledge or consent since everyone carries around a phone with a camera on it.

After that, Hogan delivered his speech and apologised for the things he said while noting that he was unaware that he was being recorded while making the remarks.

The meeting ended with Henry throwing his support behind The Hulkster.

Evidently, it's going to take a while for everyone to embrace Hogan - if that day ever arrives.

Surprisingly, there was no mention of Titus O'Neil storming out, which is one rumour that has been floating about.
