Liverpool really are enjoying themselves in the summer transfer window.

Fabinho, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri have all joined the Reds over the past month for a combined £115m as Jurgen Klopp looks to build on last season's achievements.

And now, according to the Times' Paul Joyce, they've agreed a £66m fee to sign goalkeeper Alisson Becker from AS Roma.

Klopp saw a £62m bid rejected yesterday but the German has taken no time at all to lodge an improved one.

Chelsea have also been linked with Alisson as they prepare to lose Thibaut Courtois, though it would appear the Blues and Real Madrid are now out of the race.

A new goalkeeper has been needed at Liverpool for quite some time but recent events have given Klopp no choice.

Loris Karius' two mistakes in the Champions League final and sloppy error against Tranmere last week proved he's not good enough to be No.1.

ALISSON DEAL IMMINENT

The same can be said for Simon Mignolet, who joined Liverpool five years ago this summer but became frozen out last season.

And then there's Danny Ward, who Klopp was previously prepared to give a chance to but has since decided isn't experienced enough.

What Alisson will bring to Liverpool is an assuredness in front of goal, both in terms of making saves and when in possession.

He's renowned for being a sweeper keeper and now a fascinating video has emerged showing just how good the Brazil international is when it comes to distribution.

In the video below, Alisson is able to drop kick, pass and throw to teammates with unerring accuracy, which is exactly what Liverpool need.

Liverpool fans should be very excited. Alisson's style of goalkeeping is akin to Manchester City's Ederson, who was absolutely stunning last season.

Alisson is certainly an improved shot-stopper, but his range of passing and throwing could prove just as important for his new club.
