West Ham are currently considering an offer from Liverpool for striker Carlton Cole, according to Sky Sports News.
Cole has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield before the transfer deadline at 6pm today and they have now reportedly made an official bid.
Although the former Chelsea man has insisted he is happy to stay at the Boleyn Ground, the Hammers are willing to consider offers of around £10 million.
Avram Grant has already brought in Victor Obinna from Inter Milan, but would then have to replace Cole, leaving him little time to find another striker.
The Reds have had a frustrating transfer deadline day, trying to sign a striker to partner Fernando Torres and have been re-buffed in their attempts to sign Bobby Zamora.
One striker who could be on his way out of Anfield is Ryan Babel, who has been linked with both West Ham and Tottenham.
However, Harry Redknapp has told Sky it is unlikely he will sign anyone today, leaving the door open for West Ham to replace Cole with the Dutchman.
Meanwhile, Roy Hodgson is also on the verge of announcing a deal for Fulham left-back Paul Konchesky.
