Following his appearance at UFC 226, Brock Lesnar is not just the talk of WWE anymore.
The Beast has spent much of his career flip-flopping between pro-wrestling and MMA fighting - and now it seems he's lining up a return to the Octagon.
LESNAR VS CORMIER
A couple of weeks ago, Lesnar crashed Daniel Cormier's post-fight interview.
Well actually, DC, who had just beat Stipe Miocic to become the UFC Heavyweight Champion, actually invited Brock into the cage.
In what many MMA fans described as a "fake" WWE style promo, the Universal Champion and newly crowned heavyweight titleholder had it out on the mic.
A shoving match followed before Lesnar was escorted out - but it's pretty clear that Dana White wants to make a super fight happen soon.
WHEN BROCK COULD RETURN TO UFC
Of course, The Beast is still under contract with WWE - meaning he won't be able to instantly step back into the Octagon.
He's also got to finish serving a drugs ban from his last stint in UFC, which means he won't be fighting in 2018.
But White could make his return official for as soon as January 2019 - by that time, Lesnar would no longer be under contract with WWE and his ban would be cleared.
REACTIONS TO LESNAR AND CORMIER'S ACTIONS
Now, the pair's antics at UFC 226 caught the attention of a lot of fans and fellow MMA fighters. Some, including Nick Diaz, have slammed DC and Brock as "embarrassments" to the sport.
Others though, like fellow heavyweight Junior dos Santos, completely understand why they're chasing a super fight.
It appears that even a member of the WWE roster was watching Cormier and Lesnar go face-to-face that night because Seth Rollins actually messaged DC in the aftermath.
In an interview on the red carpet at ESPN's Sports Humanitarian Awards, Cormier revealed that he and Rollins are good friends.
In fact, The Architect actually sent DC a text following his heavyweight championship win, telling him to "kick Brock's ass".
"Maybe that’s why he [Brock] is so mad at me; because I’m friends with Seth Rollins," Cormier explained, per Ringside News.
"I got a text message from Seth right after the fight. He goes ‘Congratulations, now go kick Brock’s ass.’ That is what I’m gonna do."
That's pretty cool. If DC needs any help dispatching The Beast, he can always turn to Rollins, who scored a huge victory back at WrestleMania 31.
Of course, though, things are completely different inside the Octagon, so only time will tell if Cormier has what it takes to successfully defend his belt against Lesnar.
