It can be hard to believe at times that the New Day is still going strong in WWE.By now, we usually see teams breaking up and either launching huge singles stars, or members end up swimming in mid-card obscurity.

NEW DAY SUCCESS

For the New Day, that hasn't been the case as they've been able to reinvent themselves time and time again while maintaining the core value of the group; the power of positivity.

Despite the rocky start as a trio, Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods have shattered records and broken plenty of barriers on their journey to the top of WWE's tag team division.

With fans expecting them to debut as another version of the Nation of Domination, it's safe to say their new gimmick was a surprise to many.

Recently, the New Day has dominated the headlines for their statement about Hulk Hogan being reinstated to the WWE Hall of Fame.

Thankfully, the trio has grown in such popularity that their thoughts on the matter have been universally welcomed.

Now, Big E has revealed that there were initially very different plans for the New Day which, in hindsight, WWE fans may not have liked.

When speaking to The State Journal-Register, he revealed that the New Day saw themselves as a faction and discussed adding people to their group.

FACTION

According to Rajah, he said: "The thing is when we first decided to [form the New Day], we honestly saw ourselves as a faction.

"We had ideas of adding people along of way. But honestly, I'm very glad we ended up as a trio because I can't imagine it as anything else.

"We want to be equipped to do anything, whether it's tags or singles. We definitely think that is a possibility and something we're very open to, and we do believe strongly the three of us have the ability to carry that out well."

There's no denying that sticking as a trio worked out the best.

Despite there being talk of members joining, such as Sasha Banks at one stage, it's clear that remaining as a trio was beneficial in the long run.

They've all turned out to become stars, they've helped take the tag team division to new heights and the audience has been able to resonate with them.

If new members were added throughout the years, there's no telling how the fans would have reacted or embraced the New Day, while the chemistry would have undoubtedly taken a big hit.
