WWE should have expected the reaction they would receive when it was revealed that Hulk Hogan had been reinstated to the Hall of Fame.

All of this went down last Sunday during the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, after Hogan was spotted flying into Cleveland the day before.

HOGAN'S RETURN

Since then, it has been revealed that there a meeting before Extreme Rules where Hogan apologised to WWE stars before meeting some of them.

Evidently, it wasn't going to go down well with everyone.

Despite Mark Henry claiming it was a 50-50 split backstage, the New Day released a statement of their own which suggested they didn't believe the apology was genuine enough for them to change their mind.

Following that, Titus O'Neil cleared up false rumours of him storming out of the arena before releasing a statement of his own which echoed what Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods had to say - and has been well-received.

Now, Booker T has had his say on the matter.

When the Hall of Famer was speaking to X-Pac on his podcast, the former World Heavyweight Champion admitted that while it was right to reprimand and suspend Hogan, it would be wrong for him to be banned from professional wrestling over one incident.

BOOKER'S RESPONSE

According to NoDQ, he said: "The thing is when people say stuff behind closed doors…I’m sure you’ve said things behind closed doors [direct to Sean].

"I’m sure everyone in that room has said stuff behind closed doors that they’d never say in public… Why is the person taping your conversation?

"They’re obviously looking to get something out of it. You gotta look at it from that perspective as well. You don’t know if someone was drinking or not.

"There are so many variables that go into that one little episode. And I just don’t think that in the wrestling business coincide with each other.

"Do we got to set this thing down, reprimand, suspend him? Of course. But for him to be banned from professional wrestling for that one incident? I mean c’mon. That I don’t agree with. Let’s put in the past and move forward."

The taping aspect is what seemed to have rubbed some the wrong way.

Hogan claimed he was sorry as he didn't know he was being recorded, so it's understandable as to why New Day and Titus' statements were similarly focusing on one issue.
