WWE fans won't need reminding what the reaction was like from MMA fans when it was revealed that CM Punk had signed for the UFC.

Right now, it's still strange to see that the promotion had given the former WWE Champion with no experience two big opportunities inside of the Octagon.

THE BEAST'S EXIT

So, it's now more understandable than ever why there was such an uproar when that decision was made.

Now, that focus is falling on Brock Lesnar as the Universal Champion is seemingly coming to the end of his title reign where he can return to the UFC.

Evidently, MMA fans aren't happy as Lesnar is skipping the queue towards a heavyweight title fight, but the majority of WWE fans are pleased as it means Monday Night RAW will more than likely get a full-time champion once again.

However, one theory which was doing the rounds on social media last week suggested that the WWE could strike a deal with lifelong fan Daniel Cormier to cost Lesnar his title.

This would clearly draw mainstream media attention, while it also builds up towards their eventual clash down the line.

An alternative, however, is Cormier becoming a WWE superstar himself.

There's no denying his passion and knowledge - you only need to look at his reaction to Seth Rollins' heist of the century at WrestleMania 31 to understand that.

He also happens to be an Olympic-level wrestler.

Now, Roman Reigns has discussed whether or not DC could cut it in WWE.

CORMIER TO WWE?

While the majority of UFC stars would say the opposite about Lesnar returning, The Big Dog has welcomed Cormier to make the switch when he spoke to NBC Sports Radio's Helen Yee, claiming that Cormier would make the transition relatively easily.

According to Wrestling Inc, he said: "I don't see why not.

"You know he has all the instincts. He's a natural fighter. I think he'd be able to learn very fast. It really just depends on where he is in his career physically and his health and his age.

"But he's a great talker, I think he'd be very comfortable on the mic. So I think if [WWE] is something he wanted to get into he'd have a lot of advantages.

"I think he'd have a lot of people helping him to kinda get on the fast track and get on the main roster with us."

WWE loves to do business with big-name stars, with Ronda Rousey a prime example while Conor McGregor was another discussed.

Now that Cormier is in the headlines, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if an offer was made.
