Whether WWE and UFC fans like it or not, the companies are going to be linked together for quite some time. While both companies will be looking to erase CM Punk from their records, names like Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey has shown just how much success they can achieve by switching from a WWE ring to the Octagon, or vice versa.

CROSSOVER

Right now, all of the attention happens to fall on The Beast.

The majority of fans can't wait to see him drop the Universal Championship and return to the UFC, while MMA fans aren't to keen on the former UFC Heavyweight Champion skipping the queue to fight Daniel Cormier.

Although there has been some talk among fans on social media that WWE could use lifelong WWE fan Cormier in a role to get the championship off Lesnar, MMA journalist Ariel Helwani has revealed that another massive name from the UFC could be interested in joining the WWE.

In fact, it's something he teased at the Elimination Chamber event when he was in attendance with Cormier and Rousey's husband, Travis Browne.

WWE revealed on their Twitter account that former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez was at the WWE Performance Center.

BROCK'S CONQUEROR

Velasquez, who is a teammate of Cormier's, happens to be the name who conquered Lesnar in the Octagon to claim the top prize.

Speaking of his time at the Performance Center where he was training, he tweeted: "I had a great time over the last couple days getting a few workouts in at the @wweperformctr and attending @wwenxt. Thanks to everyone at @wwe for the Invite and first-class treatment. #LuchaLibre."

After the Elimination Chamber, Velasquez teased that he'd feel right at home in WWE and wouldn't mind snatching another title off Lesnar.

He posted: "First @WWE event! I could feel at home here! #BrockLesnar, I wouldn’t mind taking another belt from you. #WWE #WWEChamber #WrestleMania #LuchaLibre #Luchador #DontCallMeNachoLibre."

Now, Helwani has revealed that Velasquez enjoyed his time at the Performance Center and is now considering his options - seemingly sounding like a WWE switch could be one move he is considering.

According to IW Nerd, he tweeted: "Velasquez enjoyed his time there, I’m told, and is open to ‘options.’ He is healthier than he’s been in a while. His team wouldn’t comment on his contract status though.”

His team not commenting only raises even more questions.

WWE is always open to doing business with big-name stars, with Floyd Mayweather, Rousey and rumours of Conor McGregor appearing being perfect examples.

Only time will tell whether or not Velasquez decides his future is in the squared circle instead.
