Cristiano Ronaldo sparked quite the reaction when he signed for Juventus this summer.

Football fans had become accustomed to the Portuguese enduring as a legend at Real Madrid and there was good reason to suggest he would see out his career at the Bernabeu.

However, after consecutive summers suggesting a Ronaldo exit, this month finally saw him turn his back on the Spanish capital and take on the new challenge of Serie A.

Neymar is somebody who can relate to Ronaldo's recent transfer activity.

Although seven years his junior, the Brazilian left Barcelona last summer to challenge himself in a new country and new league with Paris Saint-Germain.

The pair also happen to be two of the best players on the planet and two men who will be competing for the Ballon d'Or when award season rolls round over the winter.

And Ronaldo's exit from Real has given substance to rumours that Neymar will move to the Bernabeu; reports that the 26-year-old has now rebuffed.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Neymar noted: "I'm staying. I'm staying in Paris. I have a contract. Most of the speculation is made by the media.

Neymar drops his opinion

"Everyone knows my objective, why I went to Paris. I want to have success with that club and I hope next season could be wonderful."

Well that settles that then, but what does he make of Ronaldo switching it up like him?

It's fair to say he gave a glowing report and - in his opinion - Ronaldo will bring Serie A back to the glory days of the 1990's.

"I think Cristiano Ronaldo will change Italian football," Neymar declared.

"It will again be the Italian football that I watched when I was a child because Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player.

"He is a legend in football, a genius.

"I'm happy for his decision. I think it is a difficult decision for him so I wish him good luck but not against Paris."

Ah, the glory days of the Serie A - could Ronaldo bring them back?

While it's too early to tell whether Ronaldo will have such an impact on the entire league, it seems a masterstroke from Juventus both on and off the pitch.

There's no doubt in Neymar's mind that the 33-year-old will take to Italian football with ease given his boundless talent and claim as football's greatest ever.

At the moment, Ronaldo is resting after an eventful World Cup campaign with Portugal and will link up with his new teammates in the coming weeks.

It will take time for football fans to get their heads around Ronaldo in a Juventus jersey, yet it'll be fascinating to watch how he gets on.

Neymar seems uninterested in moving to Real but maybe, just maybe, he could move to a newly invigorated Serie A sometime in the future.
