It’d hard not to be impressed by Liverpool’s business in the transfer window.

The acquisition of Alisson in a £67 million deal from Roma completes a summer in which Jurgen Klopp has also improved his midfield and added depth in attack.

Liverpool now look primed to mount a serious title challenge this season.

Alisson, who becomes the most expensive goalkeeper in history, became a priority following a difficult few months for Loris Karius.

It seems as though the German hasn’t recovered from his howlers in the Champions League final, for he has looked equally vulnerable in pre-season.

Klopp was aware that to rectify the issue, he would need to spend big.

And Alisson’s transfer fee will be worthwhile should the club land silverware this season.

Klopp gatecrashes Alisson interview

Liverpool announced the 25-year-old’s arrival late on Thursday, flooding their social media accounts with videos of the ‘keeper.

And one clip that fans loved showed Klopp gatecrashing Alisson’s first interview with LFCTV, the club’s in-house television channel.

“It’s really cool to have you here,” the Liverpool manager tells Alisson.

Klopp just couldn’t wait to meet his new player.

The German’s enthusiasm is really infectious, and it explains why he’s adored so much by the club’s supporters.

They are, of course, waiting for him to deliver a trophy.

Liverpool were losing finalists in the League Cup and Europa League finals in Klopp’s first season at the club.

And they were outclassed by Real Madrid in the Champions League final last season.

But with Alisson, Naby Keita and Fabinho on board, adding to a squad that includes Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, it’s hard not to feel that it’s a matter of when for Liverpool in their pursuit of a trophy.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s injury setback is a blow but the squad remains extremely talented.

Klopp added some much-needed depth in attack by signing Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City.

And with Alisson between the sticks, Liverpool fans will have lofty targets for the season.
