Eden Hazard finds himself tangled in transfer rumours this summer.

Across his six-year spell with Chelsea, the Belgian has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge on numerous occasions but another year without Champions League football could be the final straw.

Reports of a move to Real Madrid have intensified in recent weeks and Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Juventus has provided quite the motive for Los Blancos to splash the cash.

And while Barcelona are also rumoured to be in the running, Hazard has dropped plenty of hints that a move to the Bernabeu would be his preferred destination.

The 27-year-old noted since the World Cup: “For my career, certainly after this World Cup, I’m at a moment where I might change. We all know that I’ve always felt well at Chelsea, so... I’ve been linked to all the big clubs.

Hazard-Real Madrid rumours

"Next week it will be Bayern. No, I’m joking. You all know my preferred destination.”

His praise for Real Madrid in the past makes it pretty clear that the European champions are the club to which he refers, even if his idol Zinedine Zidane has now left the club.

Of course, the particulars of the deal will need to be worked out between Chelsea and Real with astronomical transfer fees likely to be involved.

What Hazard really thinks of Real move

No matter how difficult those details prove, though, any deal would pivot on what Hazard truly thinks of the move when a deal is on the table.

After all, there have been rumours that Hazard fancies the possibility of spending the rest of his career at Chelsea and enduring as their star man.

However, according to Bleacher Report's Dean Jones, that couldn't be further from the truth.

He has been told by people close to Hazard that: "he completely realises this could be his only chance of making a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu—and it's one he dreams of.

"The feeling is he would relish the chance to test himself with the European champions."

So far, though, Real Madrid haven't made an official approach and sources at Chelsea are reiterating that they won't lose the 27-year-old without a fight.

There's also a belief that Hazard's well-mannered personality will ensure that he doesn't personally force through the transfer.

So it's fair to say the situation is rather complicated but Hazard's opinion on the matter, couldn't possibly be any clearer and he wants that Real move.

The ball is now in Real Madrid's court and with moves for Kylian Mbappe or Neymar now looking impossible, you would imagine Hazard is their preference.

Florentino Perez would certainly have the money to realise the deal and no more so than after the economic boost of Ronaldo's departure.

That being said, time is ticking for Los Blancos and Hazard's dream depends on the remaining days and weeks.
