With Extreme Rules finally in the books, all of the attention can turn to the exciting SummerSlam event.

Already, some huge matches are expected to take place in Brooklyn.

SUMMERSLAM PLANS

Brock Lesnar is said to be going up against both Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.

Advertisements suggest Samoa Joe will be challenging AJ Styles for the WWE Championship, while Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz as well as John Cena vs. The Undertaker are all genuine possibilities for the biggest party of the summer.

One superstar that's not really in the headlines for SummerSlam right now, though, is Braun Strowman.

At Extreme Rules, The Monster Among Men was arguably the most significant talking point of the evening as he took on Kevin Owens inside of a steel cage.

Primarily, the focus was on the Money in the Bank winner sending Owens flying off the top of the cage and through the announcer's desk.

Now, fans are wondering what the plans could be for Strowman in Brooklyn.

Currently, the only solid rumour circulating for him is that he could be the one that stands victorious once the night is over by possibly cashing in his Money in the Bank contract to claim the Universal Championship.

This, potentially, signals the end of The Beast's second stint in WWE.

STROWMAN'S DREAM OPPONENT

However, if Strowman has his way, Lesnar will be sticking around as Strowman told Sportskeeda during a recent visit to India that Lesnar remains his dream match in WWE - and he wants it at WrestleMania 35.

He said: "I've wrestled everyone.

"I would love another one on one with Brock Lesnar for the Universal title, and why not do it on the grandest stage of them all, at WrestleMania?"

At the moment, that does seem highly unlikely as Lesnar is practically confirmed to be returning to the UFC next year to fight Daniel Cormier for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Due to that, it seems highly unlikely, according to sources, that WWE could have him return to the Octagon with his Universal Championship intact.

It was claimed at one stage that Vince McMahon wanted Lesnar to put over two stars before he made his exit from WWE.

One of those is The Big Dog, who would finally get some vindication after his losses at WrestleMania 34 and the Greatest Royal Rumble.

The second was Strowman. So, it remains to be seen whether the ship has sailed for Strowman to get his hands on Lesnar one last time.

Although, the WWE didn't do him any favours during his initial booking against Lesnar during their title match.
