Paul Pogba posts footage of his amazing speech to France players before WC final

Paul Pogba may have his doubters, but no one can take anything away from him following his performances for France at the World Cup.

From start to finish the 25-year-old was superb and he was rewarded justly with a goal in the final against Croatia.

It can no longer be denied that he’s a world-class player and a big season at Manchester United is now expected of him.

What was most interesting about Pogba in Russia, though, was that he emerged as one of France’s leaders.

Pogba is renowned for being charismatic and vocal on the pitch but no one knew he was capable of giving inspiring team talks, which he did before the Uruguay and Argentina games.

He also addressed his teammates in the dressing room prior to the final and now footage of that speech has emerged.

In the video below, which Pogba has posted onto his social media channels, he reminds France’s players about losing in the Euro 2016 final and tells them to make history for their country.

“Boys, I don’t want to talk too much,” said Pogba. “We all know where we are, we all know what we want. We know how far we have come, we know it in our hearts, in our eyes.

“I can see it boys, we are concentrated. We cannot forget. Maybe I am repeating myself. We are 90 minutes away from possibly making history. Ninety minutes. One match. One match.

“I don’t know how many matches we have played in our careers but this is one match that changes everything, that changes all of history.

“There are two teams, there is one trophy, for them it’s the same. They want it. We know we lost a final (Euro 2016), we know it. We feel it here. It’s still in our heads.

“Today we are not going to let another team take what is ours. Tonight, I want us to be in the memory of all the French people who are watching us.

“Their kids, their grandkids and even their great grandkids. I want us to go on the pitch as warriors, as leaders.”

How amazing is that? Jose Mourinho is reportedly set to hand Antonio Valencia the captain’s armband at United, but perhaps he should reconsider.

Pogba’s leadership and team talks played a huge role in France winning the World Cup and who knows, maybe he can do the same for United if made captain.
