Real Madrid are going through a period of change, as they acclimatise to a post Cristiano Ronaldo era.

The Portuguese star enjoyed a trophy-filled period in the Spanish capital, winning a stunning four Champions League titles prior to his recent move to Real Madrid.

With a club as large and successful Real Madrid nothing stays still for too long, and talented youngsters are constantly sought after to bolster the squad.

Mercurial teenager and recent World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe has been linked to Los Blancos, and highly-rated 18-year-old forward Vinicius Junior has recently joined the team.

Whilst signings in the forward positions get fans most excited, behind the scenes there have been efforts to bolster the defensive options at the Bernabeu.

Real has beaten reported interest from Liverpool to sign keeper Andriy Lunin.

Lunin is 19-years-old and has been signed from Zorya in his native Ukraine – the youngster has joined for a reported €8.5 million.

The teenager has over 50 first team appearances at club level and has already made his full debut for the national team.

The Ukrainian is a relative unknown to most football fans at the moment - yet he is known as a solid prospect that is comfortable with the ball at his feet, as well as already being a strong physical presence despite his age.

You can check out some footage of Lunin below – it’s easy to see why Madrid and Liverpool were fighting over him.

Whilst an impressive highlight reel, it won’t be easy for Lunin to impose himself on the first team.

Keylor Navas, Kiko Casilla and Luca Zidane already make up the goalkeeping contingent for Los Blancos, and Madrid have been heavily linked to Thibaut Courtois in recent weeks.

It remains a strong possibility that Lunin will either be loaned out or spend time with the reserves until he has found his feet.

The youngster certainly seems like one to watch for the future.
