WWE fans always love it when a new championship belt is introduced.

Although sometimes, new titles are not always well received.

THE UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Back in 2016, the promotion introduced a new world championship for the RAW brand - debuting the Universal title.

It was supposed to be instantly recognised as the flagship programme's top prize - but was instead ridiculed by fans.

Many thought the design was lazy - in essence, it's just the WWE Championship, but red.

Since that happened, it appears that WWE have put in a lot more effort to designing their new belts.

LATEST DESIGNS

Two of the more recent titles added have been for the NXT brand. The designs for WWE's United Kingdom and NXT North American championships are far more respected by fans.

The latter of the two was established back in March - and according to recent reports, we could be seeing even more new titles very soon.

RUMOURED NEW WWE CHAMPIONSHIPS

"Belt Fan Dan" who has broken a number of belt-related stories in the past, has posted on Reddit (per Ringside News), revealing that there are a number of new championships in the works.

According to his sources in WWE, Stephanie McMahon will soon announce the Women's Tag Team Championship belts - and they'll be joined by a number of others.

205 Live are apparently also going to get tag titles of their own, but there's no word on when they'll be introduced.

As well as that, for NXT, new United Kingdom Women’s and United Kingdom Tag Team belts are in the works.

In total, we could be seeing four new titles introduced to WWE over the next few months.

A STEP FORWARD

Establishing tag team belts for the Women's division is a much-needed step forward - and that idea is actually something Becky Lynch has been pushing for a while now.

Stephanie is expected to make her "historic announcement" on RAW this week - and as "Belt Fan Dan" suggests, the titles are expected to be a big part of that segment.

It's also good to see that NXT are pushing the development of their women too, with Triple H planning to introduce a women's championship on the UK side of things as well.
