It's safe to say that Vince McMahon has made his fair share of mistakes when it comes to releasing WWE superstars.
In some cases, it works out perfectly fine with Drew McIntyre being a perfect example of that.
REGRETS
His rocky road as 'The Chosen One' through to his 3MB days eventually saw him becoming released from his contract.
A successful stint on the independent scene then saw him come back, and how Vince and Triple H are reportedly personally moulding him to become the main event star he was always destined to be.
On other occasions, it doesn't work out too well - not for now, at least.
Nobody would have anticipated that Cody Rhodes ditching the Stardust gimmick would see him carve out an incredible independent career, and the success of All In before it's even taken place speaks volumes.
Even Kenny Omega can be thrown into that conversation after he was never really given a real opportunity in the WWE.
LIFE OUTSIDE OF WWE
Now, it's thought that Vince is preparing to offer some huge contracts to get the likes of Cody back in WWE.
Evidently, there's plenty of talent in WWE that deserve to be in much better positions and can perhaps be much more significant successes elsewhere.
Now, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has revealed that there's one current WWE star who would benefit from leaving WWE and the company would come chasing him.
WASTED TALENT
Chad Gable has sadly not done anything of note as a singles star in WWE.
His wrestling background has been well-documented, the fans love him and he oozes talent.
Despite that, the WWE has done very little with him other than pairing him with Jason Jordan and Shelton Benjamin.
Meltzer stated that Gable is just too talented, and WWE wouldn't stay away if he did end up leaving.
According to Reddit, Meltzer said: "He [Gable] is so talented.
"If he left, anywhere he went he would do freaking great. Then WWE would want him back and respect him more."
Meltzer also added that indie star Jay White and Gable were in the running to be the Observer's Rookie of the Year two years ago, with both anticipating at the time that Gable would do better.
Instead, they have had different careers so far.
Fans in the Reddit thread feel the same way - they believe Gable has been wasted in WWE ever since he was called up from NXT.
Stars like Cody are showing others that there is life outside of WWE, and losing a talent like Gable would undoubtedly be a massive blow in the long run.
