All eyes were on Stephanie McMahon on Monday Night RAW this week after it was announced on the company's official Twitter account that she would be in attendance to make a major announcement.

More often than not, an announcement made by Stephanie means it's going to revolve around the women's division.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Fans pretty much knew that as it didn't take long for the rumours to circulate on what the announcement was going to be about.

We had heard that it could have been new championships, a new event while some even speculated that it could be about a Women's Intercontinental Championship.

As we know, Stephanie revealed that the first-ever all-woman pay-per-view is going to take place in October in what will prove to be a historic occasion.

Not only that, but we're also going to crown the inaugural NXT UK Women's Champion at the event.

It was always that that the new title was going to be introduced.

Triple H recently announced that WWE was forming NXT UK, meaning the brand will have the NXT United Kingdom Champion, the NXT UK Women's Champion as well as the tag team titles.

However, they're not the titles many were talking about this week.

Instead, fans were adamant based off reliable sources that WWE was going to introduce Women's Tag Team Championships.

Belt insider Belt Fan Dan revealed that the titles had been finalised and looked similar to the male version, except they featured white leather.

WOMEN'S TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS

It was added that WWE is notorious for creating new championships and not using them.

Now, though, Stephanie has revealed just how close the company is to introducing the titles the fans are desperate to see.

It doesn't sound too good right now, as she told Sky Sports that there aren't any immediate plans to bring in those titles, even though they've heard the fans and will look to implement them as soon as they can.

According to Ringside News, she said: "Not quite yet but that’s absolutely something we’ve heard loud and clear from our fan base, and it’s something we’re keen on implementing as soon as we are able to."

It can be argued that WWE is in a great position to introduce those championships, considering the rosters are stacked right now.

If any division does need a championship, it's undoubtedly the women.

Now, fans will have to play the waiting game.
