Real Madrid supporters are eager to watch 18-year-old Brazilian Vinicius Junior in action.

The wonderkid was officially unveiled at the Bernabeu last week following his £39.6 million arrival from Flamengo.

In the post-Cristiano Ronaldo era, this is an important time for Real Madrid.

There’s a new manager in charge, Julen Lopetegui replacing Zinedine Zidane, and a vacant throne following Ronaldo’s move to Juventus.

There are suggestions that Gareth Bale could be the short-term replacement for the Portuguese superstar.

But Bale is 29-years-old and can’t be relied upon to stay injury-free.

Thankfully for Los Blancos, they have some extremely talented youngsters waiting in the wings to become Real’s new king.

Real Madrid's future XI?

Real Madrid have made a clear push towards signing young players and their team of the future looks incredibly promising.

ESPN have taken a look at how Real’s XI could look in the coming years, and it’s very impressive.

GK | Andriy Lunin | 19

Real Madrid’s latest signing, Lunin has also earned two senior international caps for Ukraine.

RB | Alvaro Odriozola | 22

Lopetegui is a fan of Odriozola’s, promoting the right-back to Spain’s World Cup squad before his sudden exit.

That should stand the former Real Sociedad player in good stead as he competes with Dani Carvajal and Nacho Fernandez for a starting spot.

CB | Jesus Vallejo | 21

A loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt in 2015-16 aided Vallejo’s development.

Supporters got a glimpse of the youngster in the 3-1 defeat to Juventus in April.

LB | Theo Hernandez | 20

Marca report that Real are looking to offload Theo, either on loan or in a sale that includes a buy-back clause.

He hasn’t kicked on since shining on loan at Alaves and his future could lie away from the Bernabeu unless things change.

RM | Martin Odegaard | 19

Odegaard has returned from a loan spell at Heerenveen in which he played regularly.

His season will have given Real Madrid more confidence that he can fulfil his potential, although another loan move is expected.

CM | Fede Valverde | 20

Similarly to Odegaard, Valverde began to find his feet while out on loan.

The tall midfielder, who spent last season at Deportivo La Coruna, is set for another temporary departure.

CM | Dani Ceballos | 21

The jury remains out on Ceballos after a troubled first season at the Bernabeu.

He remains raw and Lopetegui’s reputation for giving young players an opportunity should help him.

LM | Marcos Asensio | 22

Asensio could be a starter for Real Madrid this season.

The 22-year-old loves the big stage and will benefit from Ronaldo’s departure.

RW | Rodrygo | 17

Vinicius Junior isn’t the only Brazilian teenager that Real have signed.

Los Blancos have paid Santos €54m for Rodrygo; the deal will go through next summer.

ST | Sergio Diaz | 20

Diaz’s first two seasons in Spain haven’t gone too well but it was just two years ago that he was thought of as the next Sergio Aguero.

LW | Vinicius Junior | 18

It sounds as though Real are prepared to thrust Vinicius into the first team.

The Brazilian forward said he expects to play a few games with the youth team before moving into the senior squad.

Los Blancos run the risk of exposing the youngster too soon if that is the case but if his talent warrants a place alongside Bale and co., then Lopetegui won’t shy away from it.
