Arsenal go into the new season with a sense of the unknown after Arsene Wenger's departure.

After 22 years at the club, the Frenchman decided to step down after a tumultuous few years, with Unai Emery his replacement.

It's a job which comes with a lot of expectancy, but there has been an air of optimism since pre-season training started.

Players have complimented Emery's no-nonsense style and work ethic in training, with Mesut Ozil even joining up early after discussing them with teammates.

And the new manager's transfer business hasn't been too bad, the signing of defensive midfielder Lucas Torreira really catching the eye.

But who else will be following the likes of Jack Wilshere in leaving the club this summer?

There have been talks of Emery trimming down a squad full of players yet to make their mark in Arsenal colours.

Spanish forward Lucas Perez is one who has been mentioned as a potential departure, particularly after his poor loan spell at Deportivo last season.

However, Perez has reportedly been working hard in pre-season and he posted an eye-catching video on Twitter.

PEREZ LOOKS LIKE A NEW MAN

Is that really the same man we saw stagnate under Wenger? He looks sharp, quick and his left foot appears in pretty good shape.

And Arsenal fans were quick to send their support in the replies, stating that Perez needs to be given a chance next season.

ARSENAL FANS REACT

They've made their feelings clear.

The Gunners are knowingly on the market for a wide forward, but they may have the ideal man already in their squad.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is likely to slot in on the left-hand side of Emery's attack, with Alexandre Lacazette leading the line.

Perez would provide cover for both of them and could provide a more quality replacement than the likes of Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi.

With the money saved by keeping Perez, the signing of a new centre-back could be made the priority.
