A huge heavyweight clash will take place this weekend as Dillian Whyte and Joseph Parker will meet inside the ring on July 28 at The O2 Arena in London.

More than just bragging rights is on the line in this fight, as the winner would likely receive an opportunity to fight against the unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua at a later date.

So while no title is on the line in this fight, the outcome of this clash could make or break the career of the winner or loser, which is why it's so important for either fighter to leave the ring as the victor.

Parker won't be a pushover for Whyte, just like Whyte won't be an easy fight for Parker.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Kevin Barry, Parker's trainer explain what the New Zealander needs to in order to get the better of the British boxer this weekend.

More than speed

Barry stated that while speed will be important, it won't be enough to beat Dillian. Joseph needs to make sure he has power in his punches and that he makes the right moves at the right time too.

He said: "Speed is important, but it's power and timing too. Speed alone won't win this fight. We need to hit this guy freaking hard and often because he will keep coming until we break him down.

"Dillian is a tough, physical guy and it's very important that Joe follows our game-plan. If we allow Dillian to close the distance it will be a tough fight."

Estimated weights have suggested that Whyte could weigh-in nearly a stone heavier than Parker on Friday when the weigh-ins take place, so the Samoan needs to use his speed wisely.

Eddie Hearn, Whyte's promoter, took note of the former WBO Champion's speed, saying how Dillian has tailored his sparring to combat against it.

He said: "Parker will have the speed advantage whatever. Dillian has tailored his sparring to the speed. One thing that AJ said: 'Parker is very, very fast'.

"Dillian might be in a situation where, after a round or two, the speed is too much so he needs to cut Parker off.

"One of my worries is that, although Dillian has improved technically, he shouldn't rely on that in this fight. He needs to rely on the attributes that have got him this far. Do what he does best - make Parker go to places that he doesn't want to go to.

"If it becomes a fencing match, it could go Parker's way."
