Cristiano Ronaldo's departure at Real Madrid could potentially have negative consequences for the club.

The Portuguese forward has been integral to all the success the club has enjoyed in the past decade.

Ronaldo joined in 2009 and went on to score an incredible 450 goals in 438 games for the club.

Those goals will be desperately missed at Real Madrid. It is clear that Los Blancos need to splash out in the summer on a striker to try and replicate Ronaldo's goal-scoring heroics.

But who will the club target? There's no question that the club will be in the market for a world-class forward this summer.

Real Madrid's financial power means that they have the money to sign just about anyone in world football.

A few names have already been touted, including Edinson Cavani, Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski.

Marca have held a poll where Real Madrid fans can vote for the striker they want to replace Ronaldo, with nine options being given.

200,000 fans have voted on the man they want, and one player in particular comes out on top.

The results of the poll can be viewed below:

Harry Kane - 26%

Edinson Cavani - 14%

Mauro Icardi - 14%

Mariano - 12%

Robert Lewandowski - 12%

Alvero Morata - 8%

Rodrigo - 6%

Other - 5%

Roberto Firmino - 2%

So there we have it. Kane is the clear favourite in the eyes of Real Madrid fans.

Whether they will be able to convince Tottenham to sell Kane, however, is very unlikely.

The 24-year-old signed a new contract with Tottenham just last month, hinting that he has no intention to leave his boyhood club any time soon.

Finishing well behind Kane is Cavani, who is rumoured to be Real Madrid's top target to replace Ronaldo, and Icardi of Inter.

Former Real Madrid youngsters, Mariano and Morata, also received a fair amount of votes.

Finishing rock bottom of the list is Firmino with just 2% of the votes. Ouch.

It is perhaps understandable that he finished bottom of the pile, however, with the need for an out-and-out goalscorer the obvious need for Real Madrid.
