Anthony Martial's time at Manchester United looks as if it is coming to an end.

The Frenchman is considered to be one of the, if not the most talented player at Manchester United, but he has failed to impress under Jose Mourinho.

Unhappy with the game time Mourinho gave him last campaign, Martial's agent, Philippe Lamboley, announced last month of the 22-year-old's to leave the club.

"After thinking about all the possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United," he told RMC, per the Manchester Evening News.

"Everyone will have his opinion, I think he must resume the course of his career. The time has come."

Mourinho is believed to be willing to sell Martial, but that vision has not been shared by Man United's board, who view the Frenchman as a player who could yet fulfil his potential.

But new developments indicate that Man United are now willing to let Martial leave, but only after they seal a deal for his replacement.

Gareth Bale and Willian have been two forwards constantly linked with the club in the past few months, but a deal for either player looks too difficult to complete.

Instead, according to the Mirror, Man United want to sign Croatia World Cup star Ivan Perisic before they let Martial leave.

Mourinho was heavily interested in Perisic last summer and it is believed he will attempt to make him a Man United player once more before the transfer window closes next month.

Perisic has seen his price tag increase dramatically in the past month thanks to his performances in Croatia's run to the World Cup final.

He was an integral figure throughout and is believed to be valued at £60 million by his current employers, Inter Milan.

As for Martial, the Mirror claim he is desperate to quit Old Trafford for a fresh start elsewhere and Mourinho will let him go, but only to a club of United’s choosing and for their £70m valuation.

The club are determined he moves abroad, despite interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea and Tottenham.

Paris St Germain and Bayern Munich are also in the hunt for Martial and it is claimed the 22-year-old forward's preference would be a move to the French capital.

Martial is a popular figure among Man United fans but is is pointless keeping a player who is intent on leaving the club.

And United fans should be happy if he were to be replaced by Perisic, who has proven he is one of the world's best forwards this summer.
