Heavyweight rivals Dillian Whyte and Joseph Parker face off this Saturday at London's O2 arena.

Up until now, both men have only suffered defeat to Anthony Joshua.

Parker's loss was the most recent out of the two, losing via unanimous decision against Joshua in Cardiff in March earlier this year.

Whyte, on the other hand, lost after Joshua forced a stoppage in the seventh round in December 2015.

Both fighters have to chance to stake their claim for a potential rematch with Joshua. A victory would certainly see either man rise in the pecking order.

However, how did the first bout with Joshua impact the mentality of both fighters?

When asked what he would do differently if he fought Joshua, Parker told Sky Sports: "I wouldn't take my time. We know he is a tough guy with a lot of knockout power.

"The plan of the fight was to box smartly, move well and don't get hit. But if I could change things, I would do a lot more brawling."

On the other hand, Dillian Whyte said that he has grown a lot since the loss.

He added: "At the time, I had a new trainer who was trying to teach me something new. I never had enough time.

"I wasn't mature enough as well, mentally. Mentally I was thinking 'fight, fight, destroy', but now I have a different approach.

"Joshua gets destroyed this time, properly. I get him going this time again, I will finish. One hundred per cent, I will finish this time.

Despite both fighters appearing to be behind a long list of names who could potentially take on Joshua, the two remain confident a rematch is still on the cards.

Whyte said: "The story doesn't end there, because we'll probably fight another two times after that. He's the kind of guy that if I fight him 10 times and beat him in all of those. Then, I'll fight him an 11th time."

Meanwhile, when asked why he thinks he deserves another shot against Joshua, Parker's answer was straightforward.

He simply replied: "Because he didn't knock me out like Dillian."
