Chelsea's summer transfer window has been dominated by headlines about Eden Hazard's future.

Ever since the window opened on May 17 the Belgian has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, who are long-term admirers.

His performances for Belgium at the World Cup only heightened that interest, especially following Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Juventus.

Hazard has even suggested he might leave Chelsea, saying recently: "After six wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something new, certainly after this World Cup.

"I can decide if I want to stay or go, but Chelsea will make the final decision - if they want me to go. You know my preferred destination."

And in case you didn't already know, his preferred destination is Real.

Chelsea have held firm by telling Los Blancos this week they want at least £200m for Hazard, whose contract expires in two years time.

HAZARD WANTS REAL MOVE

That's according to the Daily Mail, who add that while talks are underway over a new deal worth £300,000-per-week, Hazard has shown a reluctance to commit.

It's over to Real now that Chelsea have made their demands clear and Spanish outlet Marca claim that a decision has been made.

Rejoice Chelsea fans, it's good news.

Real have now ruled out a move for Hazard because they don't want to pay £200m, they won't have time complete a deal and they want to give Isco the chance to prove himself.

Julen Lopetegui, who replaced Zinedine Zidane as manager earlier this summer, thinks it's time for Isco to step up having previously managed the Spain midfielder at international level.

It's finally over. Missing out on a move to Real will no doubt sadden Hazard, but it will certainly please Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri.

"It's a pleasure to have [Thibaut] Courtois, to have Willian, to have Hazard, but [their futures] don't depend on me, not only on me," said the Italian recently.

"So, we have to wait. I'm confident."
