Arsenal fans are happy after a 5-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in Singapore. This was a weakened PSG side - Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe are still recovering from the World Cup - but the Gunners’ performance was impressive.Mesut Ozil, Rob Holding, Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette, who netted twice, scored for Unai Emery’s team.Matteo Guendouzi, Ainsley-Maitlaind Niles, Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe also featured as Emery continues to give his youth players an opportunity at the International Champions Cup.There was an unusual moment just before kick-off when the referee asked Mesut Ozil to sign his yellow card.Yet that may not have been the most strange moment of the pre-match events.Ozil and Adrien Rabiot, the respective captains, met the referee on the halfway line for the typical pre-match coin toss.

The 'coin toss' was different

But instead of a coin being tossed, a tournament official pulled out a credit card.

Yes, really.

He produced a credit card and proceeded to flip it into the air.

If anything sums up modern football, it’s that.

The reason as to why a credit card was tossed instead of a coin has emerged.

Per the Mirror, the International Champions Cup is sponsored by Union Pay International, who provide banking services in the Far East.

Commercialism in football knows no bounds.

Fans were thankful when the action finally got underway.

Ozil gave Arsenal the lead in the 13th minute when he converted Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s cross.

Christopher Nkunku levelled for PSG on the hour mark after Sead Kolasinac conceded a penalty.

Arsenal were ahead seven minutes later, Lacazette flicking home from Smith Rowe’s cross.

The Frenchman scored a header four minutes later.

Holding and Nketiah both scored late on with fine finishes to add some gloss to the scoreline.

So plenty of positives for Arsenal to take, even if Emery insists there is room to improve.

“We still need to improve tactically and improve the pace of every player,” the Spaniard assessed.
