British professional boxer Dereck Chisora had a resurgence of sorts on July 28 at the O2 Arena in London as he gained an emphatic knockout win over French heavyweight Carlos Takam in the eighth round.

The victory on Saturday has no doubt put Chisora back in contention for potential world title fights in the upcoming months.

Gaining the 29th victory of his pro career, despite succumbing to eight defeats in the process, the way Chisora conducted himself during the course of the entirety of the bout has been commended by experts as well as the boxing faithful.

Dillian Whyte won against Joseph Parker last night and he too remains in the frame for bigger opposition next.

However, promoter Eddie Hearn has made a startling claim that has caught the eye of the world of boxing.

Speaking to iFL TV, the Matchroom boss admitted that he plans to offer Dereck Chisora as the next opponent to Deontay Wilder.

Hearn said: “I’d like to see Chisora fight Wilder, why not!

“Wilder doesn’t want to fight Dillian Whyte because he’s scared to lose.

“Maybe he thinks he’ll beat Chisora. I’ll make him an offer, I’ll leave an email this week. We’ll do it in America, he needs a fight."

The 39-year-old went a further distance and asserted he might offer the American ace both Chisora and Whyte, but not at the same time.

“I’ll offer him Whyte and Chisora. You can’t ignore me. You may think I’m a p**** and you may hate me, but if I’m overpaying you and putting you on nights like this, no one puts on nights like this,” concluded Hearn on the topic.

Wilder is yet to fight since his win over Luis Ortiz in March and Hearn is still waiting for a reply on his offer to face Anthony Joshua at Wembley on April 13.

Meanwhile, Joshua is scheduled to take on Alexander Povetkin as the duo square off on September 22 in UK.
