Liverpool's fanbase really is buzzing right now.

It may only be pre-season, but Jurgen Klopp's side appear to be going from strength to strength.

After the arrivals of Naby Keita, Fabinho, Alisson Becker and Xherdan Shaqiri, Liverpool have turned in some impressive performances on their US tour.

They beat Manchester City 2-1 after going behind, before thrashing Manchester United 4-1 in Michigan.

And what's been even better for Klopp and the fans is the performances of the youngsters included in the squad.

Curtis Jones was the big talking point against City and he was impressive once again against United.

But the Scouse winger was upstaged in Michigan by fellow young talent Rafael Camacho, 18, with the Portuguese winger announcing himself to the world.

Well, we say winger, he was actually used as a right-back and his maturity in the role suggests his future belongs in the more pragmatic position.

In fact, cameras actually picked up Jones telling Camacho that the right-back spot was his for the upcoming season.

Of course, it's a light-hearted interaction, but it further emphasises the camaraderie present in the Liverpool squad right now.

And Reds fans began developing an interesting argument for Camacho during and after the victory over United.

They believe he's going to give Nathaniel Clyne a run for his money in 2018/19 in the race to be back up to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

LIVERPOOL FANS SPEAK OUT

It's an interesting theory, but one that doesn't sound completely mad.

Clyne's career has really stagnated in recent years due to a series of bad injuries.

His absence against United was due to his partner giving birth and he will likely be given a chance against Napoli in Dublin on August 4.

It will be a huge game for Clyne, because he will want to prove to Klopp that he is able to start the first game of the Premier League season vs West Ham.

Alexander-Arnold is likely to not be match fit after his World Cup exploits, so there is a space that needs filling.
