Conor McGregor can now focus on his future in UFC following the conclusion of his court case regarding his bus attack during the week of UFC 223 earlier this year.

McGregor accepted a plea deal from the district attorney in New York for his instigation and actions during an attack on a bus during the week of UFC 223 in early April.

Notorious agreed to serve five days of community service, complete an anger management program, and pay restitution, which has now cleared his path towards a UFC return legally.

However, Dana White had hinted in the past that McGregor might face further repercussions from the UFC in addition to the legal ramifications he faced in New York.

Now though, the UFC president appears to be happy with the repercussions Conor has already been handed, as he said their relationship is now back on good terms.

White said, according to MMA Weekly: “Conor has faced a lot of repercussions. Conor has lost a lot of money and a lot of time.

"Conor and I are good. We’re good.”

Khabib vs McGregor

As for McGregor's possible opponent for his UFC return, White was in agreement with the fight that many UFC fans want to see, a UFC Lightweight Championship fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov

He said: “(Alvarez vs. Poirier) definitely needed to happen. I think this is the perfect time for this to happen. (But) the fight that everybody wants to see is Conor and Khabib. That’s the fight.”

While he couldn't give a definite date, when he was asked if October 6 in Las Vegas would the target, White said, “That would be awesome,” while crossing his fingers.

The odd man out out of all of this is Tony Ferguson, who was supposed to fight against Khabib at UFC 223 before he picked up an injury. However, White has a plan to still keep him involved.

The UFC president wants to have Ferguson fight on the same card as Nurmagomedov and McGregor, presumably to have him ready to step in should either man falter before the fight.

This could mean El Cucuy fights against Dustin Poirier on the card after Poirier defeated Eddie Alvarez at UFC Calgary on Saturday night.
