Following the conclusion of Conor McGregor's court case earlier this week in New York, UFC fans' attention has now focused on his future with the company and what is next for him inside the Octagon.

Many fans already have a good idea as to who Notorious will be facing next, and his bus attack at UFC 223 earlier this year, to which he entered a plea deal for to keep him out of jail, only made them want the fight to happen more.

This is, of course, a fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov for the UFC Lightweight Championship. Many believe this could be the biggest bout in UFC history.

Both fighters want this fight to happen, it's just a case of getting the date and venue booked to make it happen.

Khabib spoke about a potential fight with McGregor when he was interviewed by the media at UFC on FOX 30 last week, revealing how he plans to hurt him, and whether he’d do it quickly or stretch out the fight.

He said, via MMA Fighting: “If you think I’m going to stay with him with my Muhammad Ali jab [like I did with Al Iaquinta], no way brother. No way. I’m going to try and take him down. Even if he tries to defend my takedown, he’s going to be tired.”

Khabib's ultimate goal

The Eagle explained his ultimate goal for the fight was to dismember Notorious' face.

He said: “To make him humble. Not only smash, but change his face. I want to change his face. Of course, with face I can change his mind, too. This is what I want.”

McGregor's Court case

When he was asked if he felt McGregor got off easy after having his felony charges dismissed and his punishment reduced to community service, an anger management class, and paying restitution, Khabib was openly honest.

He said, via MMA Weekly: “To be honest, in my heart, I’m a little bit happy this happened. Because, if he go jail, how can I catch him?

“If they say October, I’m here. If they say November, I’m here. If they say December, doesn’t matter.”

UFC fans will be hoping Khabib vs McGregor for the UFC Lightweight Championship is booked for later this year. It looks as though now Conor's court case is officially over, the wheels towards putting this fight together are in motion.
